“Ferris State University was more than just a school to me; it was my home. I remember, the first week I went to Ferris, I made a goal to meet every student on campus. Although I didn’t achieve that goal, I met many many people. I worked hard to maintain a strong academic record, and my co-curricular activities included serving as Homecoming chairperson, Student Government president, hall director, director of The Big Event, and homecoming king. I also performed in two musical productions and hosted two talk shows, Walk On with Byron and Ferris Out Loud. I loved using my time not only to attain an education but to give back to the Ferris community by being involved in as many ways as possible. Because of Ferris, my life has changed for the better. Now, I hope to help the students of Harbor Beach Community Schools realize the importance of furthering their post-secondary education and showing them that they can have fun while doing it!

InvolvementMany jobs and employers look for applicants that went above and beyond in and OUTSIDE of the classroom.

creativityI've always loved Oprah. When I got to college, I made it a goal to have my own talk show. I ended up with two that were very successful on campus. Don't limit your creativity but express and expand it!

courageI was deathly afraid of hosting in front of thousands of students but I never allowed the fear to stop me. I hosted many concerts, events, and conferences while in college.
